Dr. Miesha Merati is a board-certified dermatologist who focuses on early detection of skin cancer, complex and chronic skin conditions, and specializes in laser surgery for pigment and vascular disorders, as well as photoaging. After finishing her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and medical school at Michigan State University, she completed her dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She also underwent a rigorous fellowship in non-invasive skin cancer detection with internationally-recognized expert on dermoscopy, Dr. Harold Rabinovitz.

Dr. Merati continues to engage in research and clinical trials with dermatology thought-leaders around the world. She published numerous textbook chapters, peer-reviewed scientific studies, and presented at multiple national dermatology conferences. Her publications are featured in journals such as the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, among others. In recognition of Dr. Merati’s academic efforts, she earned several research and presentation awards.

 Prior to relocating to Miami, she practiced in Los Angeles and Cleveland, where she had ample opportunity to apply her love for creativity and unique training to provide superior medical and cosmetic dermatologic care. She also stays active within the community by engaging in skin cancer screenings, mentoring medical students and resident physicians, and serving active roles on committees within the Women’s Dermatologic Society.

When not in the office, Dr. Merati enjoys sketching, acrylic painting, photography, traveling, and spending time with her family and her cats. She is fluent in Farsi and has a working knowledge of Spanish.

Dr. Merati strongly believes in providing thorough dermatologic care and natural-appearing cosmetic results. She is a passionate advocate for her patients and considers it a priviledge to deliver thoughtful and personalized dermatologic care to each individual.
